The inspiration behind the Timberland Earthkeepers Chukka is born out of a desire to create a greener, outdoor-tested shoe with a smaller environmental footprint. This shoe features a premium burnished leather and Bionic® canvas upper. The leather comes from a silver-rated tannery, which is a tannery that has reduced energy use, reduced waste and has quality water treatment. The canvas contains yarns made with a 50% organic cotton outer wrap, 38% recycled PET core and 12% polyester to provide increased strength, abrasion resistance and decreased dry time. ion-mask™ technology has also been incorporated for water resistance. This shoe also includes recycled PET lining and a Green Rubber™ sole made from 42% recycled rubber. When it comes to comfort, a removable, anti-fatigue footbed provides all-day support.
